WHAT DOES HANDLOOM INDUSTRIES MEAN?

👉 As you can see in the above picture, that any of various looms or weaving devices operated wholly or partly by hand or foot power is called handloom industry.

NATIONAL HANDLOOM DAY IN INDIA .

👉 The 7th of August was declared as the national handloom day , In July 2015 by the government. With the objective to generate awareness about the handloom industry in India.

👉 The first national handloom day was inaugurated on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the centerary hall of Madras University in Chennai.

👉 The main aim of the government is to revive the local production of fabrics made in India. 

👉 In 1905 , the swadeshi movement was launched on 7th August in the Calcutta town hall to protest against the partition of Bengal by the British government.

BENEFITS OF DIGITIZATION OF HANDLOOM INDUSTRIES IN INDIA.

It was launched by the Union Minister of textiles, women and child development.
